Hi, My Name is Merv Sheldon and since 1983 I have owned and operated a mobile discotheque.

The disco started life as Nexus 6 Mobile Discotheques (very 80’s) and became Porky’s Disco in the summer of 1990, a name designed only for use at Harley Owners Group and HDRCGB rallies, it stuck and all these years later, still sticks. I was born in 1960 and am, therefore a mature DJ with a genuine love of dance music and party tunes.

Incidentally, I am Married (20 years seems like 2) with a teenage daughter who is infinitely cooler than her dad

Hobbies are... (Holidays cheaper the better!) Reading (not the town in Berkshire) Playing with the PC, Balloon Modelling (yes really) and spending time with the folks and my smelly dog.

Until 2006 I was an active member of Derby Merlin Round Table, a fantastic club which gave me the best nights out anyone could ever have whilst dressed!

Reliability: When you book a Porky’s Disco, unless something very serious happens, you get Me, and a Porky’s Disco! I don’t run an agency and I don’t pass work on and take a cut, incidentally, I also have a select few friends in the business that I trust, these guys aren’t competition, they’re contingency.

Flexibility: I make it my mission to be as flexible as necessary to make your party a memorable one for all the right reasons. I love working with bands and cabaret and will do whatever I can to accommodate their needs, likewise I will work around your timetable and requirements and fill the stage or squeeze into the corner as required.

Safety: Guest, and my own safety is paramount and I am constantly aware of the many hidden dangers, rest assured that my equipment is maintained to the highest standards but note also that I cannot let the actions of a few unruly children, or a drunken guest put anyone else in danger.

Customer Relations: At Porky's Disco, our highest priority is satisfied customers. You are important to us and you can expect us to go the extra mile to make your celebration... a celebration! I’ll play YOUR music at YOUR volume and aim to please YOUR guests..
