SAFETY

A FEW BITS ABOUT SAFETY - THESE ARE IMPORTANT.

Public Liability Insurance - Porky’s Disco is insured for Public liability to the tunes (no pun intended) of £7,000,000

PAT TESTING - The equipment used by me is tested annually and replaced rather than repaired, the equipment used by others under my watchful eye that is connected to the mains is tested before each use in additional to any compulsory testing requirement. Hired equipment is the responsibility of the hirer to test.

Dangerous substances - Smoke - Foam - Bubbles these liquids are all proprietary products used in the correct equipment.

Strobe lighting - Smoke. I no longer use strobe lighting, I can and do use smoke effects but will not if you prefer me not to. Most hotels now forbid it’s use.

Karaoke equipment - I use a projector and a soft screen (posh name for a white cloth pinned to the ceiling) if the screen gets pulled down - by anyone - it stays down. there is a 4 microphone limit and they get turned off when the swearing starts.

Behaviour. I will not tolerate under any circumstances, Abuse, Threats, Violence or implied Threats, I work in an environment where alcohol may cloud peoples judgement and if I see ANY danger at all that may affect myself, my equipment or the guests I will take appropriate action to remove the danger.

In the first instance this will always involve the cessation of music, and the house lights being turned up to full.

Parents are responsible for their children, like it or not and I cannot allow children to put themselves or myself in danger.

How often does this happen???? Hardly ever but it has to covered!
